Job Overview

Young Water Ambassador (YWA) program aims to promote volunteerism with a main objective to fulfill the capacity development of young people in water sector. The program provides young dynamic individuals with opportunities to learn the insights of leadership and build self-awareness and learn how to manage themselves and others. The YWA program is established to create cross-cultural and peer to peer learning. The participants of the program will gain foremost and deep understanding of water and environment related issues, learn from various experts and leaders, and enable to voice their viewpoints in solving problems.

For 6-month placement with the Center for Sustainable Water, the participants are expected to obtain learning benefits by:

  • • learning how to contribute as effective team players
  • • Harnessing the diversity and strengths of each team member
  • • Gaining the skills to drive high performance results and motivate others
  • • Acquiring a tenacious mind-set and the strength to lead efficiently and effectively
APPROACH AND METHODOLOGY

This program features a variety of activities and approaches to help the participants expand your project management and leadership capabilities, including:

  • • On-the-job training through daily operation and project management
  • • Enhancing a variety of skill sets by working with CSW team and peers
  • • Networking with water stakeholders such as government, NGOs, and development partners

WHO SHOULD APPLY?
  • • Must be above 20 years old studying at university in various fields
  • • Strong commitment to learn new things or keen on experimental learning
  • • Have a strong sense of responsibility to complete an assignment on time
  • • Not involving with any other volunteering work during the assignment period
  • • Have a strong willingness to work on social innovation and creativity
  • • Good English both speaking and writing
  • • Willing to travel to provinces

WORKING STATION

Selected Young Water Ambassadors will be placed in PhnomPenh, Cambodia. They require to work as a group or a pair in university officesor co-working spaces. Attendance will be considered as an important trackingrecord of the YWA participants.
